Changing Task Confidentiality Within a Workboard | task security level on workboard
#stratapp support
Thank you Dennis. Tasks on workboards inherit the confidentiality of the workboard. Members on the workboard are automatically added as members to tasks on the workboard.
Please note, cards and workboards you add to tasks on a workboard, may have their security level.
Similarly, if the workboard is confidential or higher, and you invite people to cards or workboards that hang off a task on the workboard, then members of those child cards and workboards will not be able to read the source of the parent task or workboard, nor open them, unless you also add them as members to the parent.
This hierarchy is a great way to drive head office initiatives across business units. You can control whether or not you want the business units to see the head office level tasks and workboards.

thank you Dennis - by design, the security for tasks on a workboard is controlled at the workboard level (under the management tab)
if you add a task to a task on a workboard, you can then set a different security level for that added task
example use case:
- using a workboard as a CRM, moving tasks (i.e. prospects) from left to right
- you have a prospect client as a task on that CRM workboard
- you want to collaborate with a partner, but you don't want that partner to see all of your other prospect clients on that CRM workboard
- solution: you add a task to the prospect client task, and invite the partner as a guest user to that added task

I found a way to solve this, the solution works but is not very elegant or intuitive.
